All aspects of the supply chain need to be digitized by the logistic leaders in order to optimize all business processes, internal as well as external. The entire system has improved in 2020 due to automation. They will be embracing the data revolution in order to evolve as tech savvy leaders; thus using data analytics and AI powered suggestions to plan ahead, leading to greater customer satisfaction as a result of operation efficiency. All data pertaining to freight, orders, warehousing will be utilized in order to plan and forecast thus leading to success.
Supply chain and Logistics go hand in hand and as John McDermott of St Onge says, “From my standpoint, I view logistics as a subset of supply chain. I would define logistics as the storage and movement of goods from a companies’ origin point (ex: supplier, plant, etc.) through to the destination point (ex: customer), with a large emphasis on transportation. I view supply chain as being much broader to incorporate such groups/activities as sourcing/manufacturing, distribution, IT, packaging, planning (supply, inventory, demand), etc.”
So the Logistics and supply trend management trends in 2020 are interlinked.
The thought of dealing with so much might seem daunting but trust me this is the path to be followed in order to succeed in the supply chain management system. Adopt the new trends of technology and focus on building a bond with customers. All that people want is to generate more revenue and for that your efficiency must improve.
